As part of AppleFest, here’s a family friendly activity that’s all about apples – and it’s fun and creative too. Have a go at painting your own apples to turn into a fridge magnet, a coaster, a hanging decoration or to make your own garden trees look pretty when the leaves fall.
Local woodworkers Beamers Designs, based at Westhope, have made us some bespoke apple outlines that need a splash of colour! Phil of Beamers is a fretwork specialist, so he was our go-to for crafting the apple templates. We provide the acrylic paints, paint brushes and apple cut-outs. Please bring your own wet-wipes! There’s a small hole drilled in the apple by the stem for string or ribbon if you’d like to hang your apple up, but you can leave the cord off if you’d like to use the apple as a coaster or fridge magnet.
We’ll be offering the apple painting activity on selected dates during AppleFest:
Thursday 3rd October 9-4.30
Friday 4th October 9-4.30
Saturday 5th October 9-4.30
Thursday 10th October 9-4.30
Friday 11th October 9-4.30
Saturday 12th October 9-4.30
The activity costs £2.50 per apple and there’s no need to book.
