Feasting & Folklore at Newton Court

An evening of fire-cooked feasting, traditional Morris dancing, music and storytelling on the terrace overlooking Knowl Orchard.

On Friday 1st August, Newton Court welcomes Leominster Morris for a celebration of cider, folklore and rural tradition beneath the Herefordshire summer evening sky.

Tickets: £55 per person

What to Expect

Begin the evening with a welcome drink and seasonal nibbles on the terrace before the first Morris dancing set begins at 5:30pm overlooking Knowl Orchard.

Guests will then gather for a three-course feasting-style supper inspired by our seasonal feasts, with dishes cooked over fire and designed to celebrate the produce and traditions of the orchard at the height of summer.

As the evening continues, enjoy a second set of Morris dancing alongside live music and storytelling as the sun sets across Knowl Orchard.

Morris Dancing & Cider Traditions

For centuries, Morris dancing and cider-making have shared deep roots in English rural life. Traditionally performed during seasonal celebrations and agricultural gatherings, Morris dancing was often closely tied to orchard communities and local cider houses.

Feasting & Folklore celebrates these connections; bringing together orchard culture, storytelling, music, dance and communal dining in the heart of Herefordshire cider country.
